                  Paper Flower Artistry

My name is Kent Jimenez, a paper flower artist, an art designer, and a botanical artist. I am the owner and founder of  Jonary Floral Design based in Lapu lapu City, Cebu, Philippines and I'm going to let you know my simple background as an artistic person.

When I was a kid like 4 years old, my parents discover my talent in drawing; when I draw a mountain and a small house using  a black pen, they were amazed that I was able to do it at early young age and illustrate the formation of the small "nipa hut" atypical house found in  the countryside and in far-flung area.

I developed my talent by practicing making of shapes, figure of sticks, improving my speed and coordination in drawing. 

Moreover, I'm a consistent best in art when I was in preschool, elementary and in High school and sometimes joining and  representing our  school to any titled  poster and mural painting contest and won several awards, one of my unforgettable moment of  being an artist, way back in 2003 where in  I got my first ever grand prize winner and had given the title  of Junior category poster making contest in the whole region.

Furthermore, during my college days, I continued my hobby in painting, drawing and attending different art and designs seminars, although the course I had been took up is unrelated to my hobby, but I still continue what I like the most, until such time I found this interesting kind of artwork of flowers using corrugated papers on the internet.

Currently, I'm enjoying making paper flower project as an "Artpreneur" where people could buy & order my handmade paper flower artwork.

My Story behind Jonary Floral Design

    It all started with an idea of giving a flower to my  lovely girlfriend Mary on her birthday last September 2019 and was planning to give her a real and fresh flowers, however, it comes into my mind that eventually, after days fresh flowers will become wilt and die and was thinking why not to make my own flowers instead of buying those expensive real flowers well in fact I can also give her a unique, simple yet elegant flower bouquet presentation made by my own hands, knowing that it is economical, worthy and environmentally friendly inspired by natural gorgeous flowers found in our Mother nature.

Before I started my art project I did some research about paper flowers looking for the tools and materials to make this incredible artwork and when I saw it on the internet for the first time posted in some of the social media platform I was surprise that paper flower exist for many years already at first I can't believe that several people can create a life like flowers but, I was wrong  and it's really a handmade flowers indeed.

Moreover, during those days it was really a hard time for me because I've been to different craft stores in town, but, I couldn't find the exact paper, and the materials that I needed the most, until such time I found it on the internet. 

Since, the natal day of my lover is fast approaching so I just tried and decided to make my bouquet of flower using the common crepe paper found in the Department store, although the quality of this paper is not that good, but still I use my creativity to pursue and achieve the paper flower bouquet that I wanted to make.   

Furthermore, after how many days of  hardworking I finally made my paper flower bouquet and the result was astonishing. I couldn't  imagine that I made it for her birthday, and when she saw it, she was really impressed and  said "wow! I love it "My heart is full of happiness when she smiles holding her Paper Flower bouquet.
